Robyn is reportedly set to release her first solo single in 8 years next week

Is the wait finally over?

By Will Stroude

After eight long, long, years, the wait for new Robyn music might finally be over (almost).

The best part of a decade after her Body Talk album trilogy spawned modern pop classics like ‘Dancing On My Own’ and ‘Call Your Girlfriend’, the Swedish songstress is reportedly set to release a brand new solo single next week.

Eagled-eyed fans noticed that a Robyn song entitled ‘Missing U’ was added to a music download site on Tuesday (July 24) before being swiftly deleted, Idolator reports.

As rumoured single artwork began doing the rounds on the internet, fans also noticed that Robyn had also used the words ‘Missing U’ in a tweet promoting an upcoming show in Ibiza. Hmm.

The singer, who previously confirmed that her new album would be released “sometime this year”, has released several collaborations over the last few years, including ‘Love Is Free’ with La Bagatelle Magique and ‘Do it Again’ with Röyksopp.

A new, apparently unfinished track, ‘Honey’ also featured in the final season of HBO’s Girls, but should the reports turn out to be true, ‘Missing U’ will mark Robin Miriam Carlsson’s first solo assauly on the charts since 2010. Fingers crossed.
