Mark Wright, Simon Webbe are favourites for ‘Strictly’ win
By Sam Rigby
Mark Wright and Simon Webbe have emerged as the early favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing this year.
With just a few casting announcements left to be made, the pair are 5/1 joint favourites to lift the Glitterball trophy in December.
The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge is the favourite female contestant with bookmakers William Hill with odds of 6/1, while EastEnders‘ Jake Wood, BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills and rugby star Thom Evans are all at 8/1.
Casualty‘s Sunetra Sarker is at 10/1, while nature presenter Steve Backshall follows at 12/1.
This Morning‘s Alison Hammond and Andy Murray’s mum Judy Murray are the outsiders, with odds of 14/1 and 20/1 respectively.
William Hill’s Rupert Adams commented: “Andy Murray has suggested that his mum is a terrible dancer and the public agree, Judy is yet to attract a bet of a pound and we fully expect her to be the first contestant to be booted off the show.”
