Lady Gaga is reuniting with the legendary Tony Bennett for a second album, which is coming out in October.

The news was announced on a billboard in the middle of Times Square, New York earlier, with the release date being 1 October and the title being Love for Sale.

The pair collaborated on the Cheek to Cheek album in 2014, which was… not the most successful album ever!

One person tweeted an image of the giant billboard.

The announcement coincides with Bennett’s 95th Birthday (3 August) and the concert One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga to mark the occasion. A second performance is taking place on 5 August.

Lady Gaga posted on Twitter, asking people to record videos as part of a video birthday card to the 95-year-old

The concerts are due to be among Bennett’s last, in part due to his Alzheimer’s which was diagnosed in 2016.

The album debuted at number 10 in the UK album charts while peaking number one in the US and spent 31 weeks in the charts. By comparison Chromatica, Gaga’s latest album peaked at number one (according to Billboard) and last for 25 weeks on the charts.

The aggregator Metacritic awarded the album 64/100 from 12 reviews while it was given three stars by the likes of Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone. Critics generally liked the duo together, with both performers getting favourable reviews.

A follow-up to Cheek to Cheek was announced in 2015 and that it would be a cover of Cole Porter songs, although whether that is the case is yet to be confirmed.
