Sex and the City icon Kim Cattrall is to join Fire Island‘s Zane Phillips in Netflix’s upcoming series, Glamorous

Deadline reports that the show will focus on the gender non-conforming and queer Marco Mejia, played by Miss Benny.

The trio are joined in the drama series by Jade Payton, Michael Hsu Rosen, Ayesha Harris, and Graham Parkhurst.

The series is billed as something of a coming-of-age, finding-yourself tale, with main character Marco stuck in a rut until they meet legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison, played by Queer As Folk star Kim.

Zane, who played the seductive Dex in Fire Island, has landed the role of Chad, the apparently devoted son to Madolyn and the Director of Sales for her beauty empire, who is caught in a never-ending quest to live up to his mother’s expectations, as per Deadline.

Posting about the news, Zane said on Instagram: “OK LET’S GOOOOOOO”

In addition to Marco, it seems Glamorous will feature several queer-presenting characters, with Payton’s Venetia introducing Marco to Brooklyn’s queer nightlife, while Ben (Rosen) finds himself challenged by Marco.

Parkhurst’s character, Parker, is referred to as “a confident, self-proclaimed jock who symbolizes unobtainable gay cis-male perfection.” A “chance encounter” with Marco establishes “a game of pursuit” writes Deadline.

As well as his role in Fire Island, Zane has had a recurring role on the final season of Legacies and will shortly appear in Netflix’s Partner Track.

The 10-part drama series is written and produced by Jordon Nardino of Smash fame.

The Attitude July/August issue is out now.
