Giorgio Moroder: ‘Britney’s recorded an eighties novelty hit for my album’

By Josh Haggis

Giorgio Moroder has revealed more details regarding his collaboration with Britney Spears.

Moroder has teased that the song is a reworking of a “quirky late-80s novelty hit” that will feature almost completely unedited vocals from the legendary performer.

Spears introduces Mars at the 2013 Wango Tango concert at the Home Depot Center in Carson

“I listened a lot to her latest songs, which were all a little… the voice was a little mechanical – so many effects,” he told Yahoo. “While on this one, she’s basically without a little delay, but no effects, no nothing. So it sounds really natural.”

If the track isn’t a version of Human League’s Don’t You Want Me Baby with Justin Timberlake then we don’t want to know…

74 is the New 24 – Moroder’s first LP in over 30 years – will also feature collaborations with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Charli XCX, Sia, Mikky Ekko, Foxes and Matthew Koma.

Spears – who is currently performing in Las Vegas – was recently joined on stage by actress and comedian Kathy Griffin for a special performance – find out more here.
