Evan Peters has been cast as Jeffrey Dahmer in Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix series about the gay serial killer, according to reports.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will also star Scream Queens‘ Niecy Nash as Dahmer’s suspicious neighbour Glenda Cleveland (as per Deadline).

Peters and Murphy have worked together for years on Murphy’s wildly successful American Horror Story saga.

Penelope Ann Miller will meanwhile play Dahmer’s mother, Joyce, with Richard Jenkins previously announced to play Dahmer’s father, Lionel.

Shaun Brown and Colin Ford have also been cast in supporting roles in the limited series, co-created by Ian Brennan. Janet Mock, who worked with Murphy and Peters on Pose, will direct some episodes.

Murphy and Netflix have yet to comment publicly on Deadline’s report.

Dahmer murdered 17 men between 1978 and 1991 and died in prison on 28 November 1994 at the age of 34, after being beaten to death by inmate Christopher Scarver.

Murphy’s other projects for Netflix so far have included The Prom, Hollywood and Ratched.

Dahmer has been the subject of numerous TV shows and films, including 2017’s My Friend Dahmer.
