Caitlyn Jenner: ‘I want a guy to treat me like a normal woman’

By Nick Bond

Caitlyn Jenner has again opened up about the possibilities of dating as a trans woman in a new preview for the next episode of I Am Cait.

Earlier on in her transition, Jenner had publicly stated that she had no attraction to men – but more recently on her E! docuseries, she’s admitted some confusion about her preferences when it comes to dating in the future.

In a new teaser for the show, Jenner is shown talking to trans friend, author and academic Jennifer Boylan, about her desire to have a man treat her as a “normal woman.”

“It would be very attractive to me to have a guy treat me… like a normal woman,” Jenner says.

“Like any other woman on the street, and not make it this big trans thing, or this or that. Just a normal relationship.”

Boylan – who, along with Jenner’s extended posse of new trans friends, has acted as something of a guide for Jenner throughout the series as the 65-year-old navigates what has been the most public transgender ‘coming out’ in history, reminds her that she’s just as ‘normal’ as any other woman.

“You don’t need a man to make you a woman,” says Boylan. “A woman can make you a woman. It’s a thing that women do. We look to men to give us self-worth. I think, now that you’re in the sisterhood, you have gone to such trouble to be a woman, don’t be a stupid one. Be a smart one.”
