Italian student Andrea Faustini has emerged as this year’s favourite to win The X Factor.

Bookmakers William Hill have slashed Faustini’s odds to 9/4 following his emotional performance of And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going from Dreamgirls at the Judges’ Houses stage of the show last night (October 3).

“It has been a whirlwind week with a huge gamble on Andrea whose price has more than halved – Andrea looks like the real deal and, dare I say it, he has the X Factor,” said a William Hill spokesperson.

Viewers will find out tonight (October 4) whether Faustini, 19, will be one of the three contestants in the Boys category to be selected by Mel B for the live shows.

Behind Faustini, second favourite to win is Jay James Picton, the former Royal Navy fitness instructor in Simon Cowell’s Over 25s category, who is at 4/1, followed by Louis Walsh’s unnamed eight-piece boyband at 5/1.

Meanwhile, Attitude favourite Jake Quickenden is a little behind at 16/1 – click here to take a look at our Picture Special featuring the buff singer.

The X Factor continues tonight (October 4) at 8pm on ITV1. You can relive Faustini’s emotional performance of And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going below.
