Big Brother viewers slam MMA fighter for ‘homophobic’ remarks with Salina EsTitties in the house
Fans have expressed concern that placing Kirk in the house alongside a drag queen could create an unsafe environment for LGBTQ+ housemates

MMA fighter Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk is under fire after making anti-drag remarks while RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Salina EsTitties makes history on Big Brother US.
During a conversation with housemate Rick Devens on the Big Brother live feeds, Kirk made controversial remarks while reacting to fellow houseguest Drew Campbell wearing a pair of unicorn pyjamas.
“Bro, Drew dressed in Mallory [Aurichio]’s other unicorn pyjamas. There was a third pair, and I was with them, and I was like, ‘I’m not doing that, bro,'” Kamu said.

“Not until Jason’s HOH (Head of Household),” Rick replied, referring to Salina EsTitties, whose real name is Jason De Puy.
“I said, ‘Miss me with the drag stuff. Miss me with the women’s clothes. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold,'” Kamu added.
Following his comments, viewers criticised the MMA fighter, with Frankie Grande branding him “homophobic” and “gross”.

Posting on X, the singer wrote: “Um. What the fuck is this horseshit?! Get these homophobic bigots out of the fucking house IMMEDIATELY.”
He continued: “This conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… fuck. Ew. Gross.”
Grande later clarified that he does not blame Devens for taking part in the conversation with Kirk, but said he still believes men femme-shaming “is homophobic. Period.”
Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that this is not the first time the fitness star has been accused of displaying anti-LGBTQ+ views.
Kirk sparks controversy over anti-LGBTQ+ social media post likes
Before entering the Big Brother house on 9 July, the series premiere date, Kirk liked several anti-LGBTQ+ social media posts, as well as posts expressing support for Donald Trump.
One of those posts was by right-wing activist Matt Walsh, who described the White House’s previous support for Pride Month as “grotesque”.
Another post that Kirk liked, shared by For the Gospel, included the harmful phrase “pray the gay away”.
Salina EsTitties makes Big Brother US history
The controversy comes as Salina EsTitties competes on the American version of Big Brother. The RuPaul’s Drag Race star is the first drag queen to compete as a houseguest on the US edition of the franchise.
