Transgender woman left with horrific injuries after brutal attack in Denver

A transgender woman has been left with horrific injuries after she was brutally attacked outside a bar in Denver.
Amber Nicole left the Tavern Downtown, in Lodo, Denver, on March 28 this year when she was harassed.
Video footage shows her crying as she almost gets into a car but she turns round to her harasses and told her friend to ‘keep recording’.
She is then seen stumbling back towards the vehicle seconds later and Nicole was left with a broken face and jaw as well as nerve damage which has paralysed the right side of her face.
She told CBS Denver: “We’re just out trying to live our lives and have fun with our peers, and people just can’t seem to see us that way.”
Her mother, Juls Martinez, added: “I was horrified to see my baby like that and all I could do was thank God that she was alive, but then I didn’t even know if she would wake up.”
Friends have started a fundraising campaign to help her family pay the ‘horrendous’ medical bills.
Organisers wrote: “Amber Nicole is a beloved trans performer and Denver socialite with a heart of gold.
“This hate crime has shaken Amber and her closest friends and family. It should shake the entire community.
“We MUST stand for our trans sisters.”
