Man left with broken arm in homophobic attack in Sydney

A man is at a “loss for words” after his husband’s arm was broken in a homophobic attack in Sydney.
Kurt Johnson and his husband Adrian Kalaiziovski got out of an Uber with a group of friends on Sunday (29.04.18) when they were allegedly verbally abused by a man who started to call them “f*****s”.
Kalaiziovski’s forearm was broken in the attack and he is still in hospital and will require pins to hold it together.
Johnson took to Facebook and wrote: “Last night at 10:30pm this man verbally assaulted myself and my friends as we exited an Uber in Redfern.
“He called us f*****s for a good 5 minutes and continued to taunt us and antagonise us.
“As soon as the onlookers and surrounding spectators of the altercation had dispersed and we had walked away from him, this “hero” came around the corner looking to start a fight by asking “one of you f*****s got a lighter”
“Things got heated and he ended up attacking my husband and broke his forearm. Adrian is currently in hospital awaiting surgery as the break needs pins to support it.
“I can’t believe that he was the victim of a hate crime in 2018. I’m still at a loss for words.”
A new South Wales Police spokeswomen told the Daily Mail Australia that are investigating the assault with a “possible motivation of homophobic bias”.
