Hillary Clinton and Ellen DeGeneres support a gay kid with heartwarming words

By Micah Sulit

Over the weekend, one photo from the popular Humans of New York page on Facebook stood out from the rest: a snapshot of a sad kid.

“I’m homosexual and I’m afraid about what my future will be and that people won’t like me,” the caption read.

The HONY photo went viral as people – including Hillary Clinton and Ellen Degeneres – expressed their support and promised this child that it will get better.

Posting from her official campaign account, Clinton wrote, “Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you – there will be lots of them. –H”

Likewise, DeGeneres offered her support via the Ellen DeGeneres Show account. “Not only will people like you, they’ll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already,” she said.

The photo was surrounded by a bit of controversy when it was removed by Facebook for unknown reasons, as it was neither offensive nor indecent. It has since been reposted.

As of this writing, the photo has garnered 52,695 comments and 575,379 likes.
