Attitude Pride Awards – Get your nominations in!

By Will Stroude

Know someone who’s changing the world for LGBT people? We want to hear from you!

We were proud and excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Attitude Pride Awards, supported by Delta Air Lines, yesterday (May 14), in order to honour members of the community who embody the spirit of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Pride. We want you guys to nominate the people who embody that best, whether they’re changing the world in ways big or small.

Pride Awards

A total of ten awards will be presented to real people, facing real challenges with strength and dignity and/or helping LGBT people in the community without fanfare or fame.

Know someone who deserves recognition from the community they’ve been giving back to? Let us know by emailing mike.buckley@attitude.co.uk by the end of Friday May 22 with your nominations.

The awards are due to held on the eve of London Pride, Friday June 26 2015, at an exclusive, invitation-only event at the prestigious Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, and will benefit Pride in London with a donation from Attitude and further fundraising on the night.

The winners and their stories will be celebrated in the biggest-ever issue of Attitude Magazine to mark its 21st birthday which will be published two days before the event on Wednesday June 24.

“We already hold an annual event celebrating the social, political, cultural figures who shape our readers worlds but the Attitude Pride Awards gives us the chance to celebrate people on the ground who are making a difference to lives of Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people every day. We couldn’t be more excited,” says Attitude Magazine editor, Matthew Todd.

Stephen Ward, Deputy Chair of Pride in London, added, “Pride in London is delighted to be part of the first Attitude Pride Awards. They will celebrate some of the everyday heroes who are making a vital difference to the lives of LGBT+ people and driving forward the agenda for equality and that’s also our theme for this year’s Pride in London on 27th June.”
