World goes crazy as Adele teases new album during X Factor

By Will Stroude

Proving in typically classy style that less is always certainly more, Adele has sent the internet into overdrive after seemingly premiering a snippet of her long-awaited comeback single unannounced on primetime TV.

The 27-year-old demonstrated her unrivalled star power after dropping the anonymous 30-second teaser into an advert break during last night’s X Factor, leaving the entire British global population crying out for more they heard her unmistakable voice sing “Hello… It’s me”.

The track itself sounds like classic post-heartbreak Adele, with the lyrics: “Hello/It’s me/I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet/To go over everything.

“They say that time’s supposed to heal ya/But I ain’t done much healing…”

Naturally, all people big and small lost their collective crap over the teaser – something which was only heightened by the fact that there is still complete radio silence from Adele’s team and the star herself about her long-awaited comeback.

The superstar’s long-awaited follow up to the world-dominating 21 is rumoured to be called 25, and is rumoured for release on Friday, November 20.

The Hometown Glory singer has remained tight-lipped about the record, and in fact has barely made any public appearances since the birth of her son almost thee years ago, but her fellow artists have been dropping plenty of encouraging hints, however.

From what we know, Rumour Has It producer and One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder has been working on the album, as has Danger Mouse, while Swedish hitmaker Max Martin has reportedly contributed a single.

Pharrell Williams has also revealed that he’s been working with the 27-year-old, praising her as a “masterful writer”.

“She’s kinda like, ‘OK guys, I’m gonna open my diary for 20 minutes’. So it’s like, OK, you have 20 minutes, or 32 minutes really,” the NERD star said of working with the star back in June.

“Then she gives it to you and closes it up and disappears, and she’s off with her beautiful boy – and that’s what it’s all about.”

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran told Capital FM last month: “I haven’t heard [Adele’s album], but everyone I know who’ve worked on it is just like, ‘Dude… that record!’ Apparently, it’s really good.”

Here’s hoping.
