Orange is the New Black season four trailer: Things are getting darker than ever

By Rhys Matthews

Netflix released the official trailer for season four of Orange is the New Black, and at 2 minutes and 20 seconds, it crams a lot in.

The season four trailers reunites us with all our favourite characters, but they all seem very different. For one thing, Taystee’s got a new job working for Warden Caputo, and everything is looking positive.

But suddenly, it all gets much darker.

Piper is seen saying: “I’ve been in Litchfield for a while now, and I have started to feel unsafe lately.”

There’s an influx of new inmates, new prison officers and new rules  as the prison becomes “for-profit”, and a mixture of unknown faces, secrets and threats is never good for the inmates of Linchfield (but it’s great for us)!

On June 17th the new series is going to start, and according to a more-than-a-little concerning statement from Netflix: “Some will fight, others will fall.”

Sophia, played by Laverne Cox, can be seen briefly in the trailer, still in seclusion and looking a little worse for wear, as she is no longer allowed her hormone replacement drugs.

But there’s one question which hasn’t been answered today. Where is Alex Vaus after last year’s surprise cliffhanger finale? Well, she doesn’t appear in the trailer, and she isn’t on the IMDB list for the first episode either, so at this point it’s anyone’s guess.

What’s for certain is, if this trailer is anything to go by, no one is going to be getting much work done during the last week of June.

Season four of Orange is the New Black hits Netflix on June 17. Check out the trailer below:
