Annie Lennox has unveiled her cover of I Put a Spell on You.

In a newly-released live performance video, Lennox covers the song that was first recorded by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, and later made famous by iconic jazz singer Nina Simone.

The song will feature on Lennox’s forthcoming covers album Nostalgia, which finds the singer tackling songs made famous in the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s by the likes of Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Jo Stafford and Louis Armstrong. Check out the full tracklisting here.

Lennox has said of the songs on the album: “I thought, ‘I wonder what my voice would be like. Would these songs suit my voice?’ It was like a little challenge. I just sort of got to know them, became friends with them really and had a great deal of joy in the process.”

Nostalgia will be released in the UK on October 27 on Island Records.
