The American comedian and close friend of the late comic confirmed she had been approached for the job during an appearance at the Make Equality Reality gala in Beverly Hills on Monday (November 3), but added that she wasn’t sure if she would be accepting the offer, People reports.

“They did offer it to me,” the 54-year-old said. “I don’t know if the situation is correct or right at this time for me. We’ll see.”
