Hocus Pocus 2 has officially begun shooting, Bette Midler confirmed today.

The star made the announcement via an on on-set picture with her co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

The trio appeared together in the first film, now a cult classic, back in 1993; Midler announced a sequel was in the works back in May.

On Twitter and Instagram today, Midler also shared that the sequel is out autumn 2022.

“Coming fall 2022”

Posting the pic on social this afternoon, Midler wrote: “Sistaaaaahs! ‘Tis time! #HocusPocus2 is now in production, coming Fall 2022 to @DisneyPlus.”

The picture sees the actresses in full-on Sanderson sister witch garb looking much like they did almost 30 years ago.

Midler will once again play head witch Winifred, with Parker returning as Sarah and Najimy as Mary.

It’s certainly a big day for SJP: the picture’s release coincides with that of the trailer for Parker’s other upcoming high profile project: And Just Like That…

The Sex and the City prequel series will release its first two episodes on 9 December, before releasing the remaining eight once a week every Thursday.
