Britain's new pop-punk star sums up how we’re all feeling right now.

Shake up your #Queerantine music playlist with Yungblud’s timely new single, the fittingly titled ‘Weird’.

Lockdown certainly hasn’t dried up the pop-punk star's creative juices as he reflects on how strange (and scary) life is at the moment.

Hitting the nail on the head, sonically speaking, the emotional track (out now) assures listeners that it’s OK to feel anxious and confused.

“I can’t think, I can’t lie/I feel anxious all the time/And if I smiled, I would be lying,” Yungblud, aka Dominic Harrison, sings.

“But hold my hand, hold it tight/We’re in a weird time of life/Don’t wreck your brain/It’s gonna be alright/We’re in a weird time of life," he continues, adding: “The sun will shine tomorrow."

(That reminds us, we need to add ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie to the playlist.)

The singer – who used to date American chart-topper Halsey – is doing his bit to stay connected to fans during the coronavirus crisis.

In the wake of his concerts being postponed, Yungblud, 22, from Doncaster, has been streaming performances from the safety of his own home.

Last week’s episode of The Yungblud Show – available to watch via his YouTube channel – featured a cover version of Rolling Stones’ ‘Wild Horses’, plus special guest appearances from Blink-182's Travis Barker, Kelly Osbourne and Machine Gun Kelly.

“S***S WEIRD BUT WE’LL KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON... i hate that shows are gettin cancelled so im gonna bring one to you,” he wrote on Instagram.

“this is a time for our fookin hearts to be together because we are gonna beat this s*** TOGETHER. having the ability to connect with you ain’t gonna get taken away. f*** that,” he added.

Last year, Yungblud opened up about his sexual fluidity while gracing the front cover of Attitude’s September issue.

He is currently hard at work on the follow-up to his debut album, 2018’s 21st Century Liability – and if ‘Weird’ is anything to go by, we’re in for a feast for the ears.
