'Strictly Come Dancing' opens results show with same-sex routine and we loved it

The BBC show has been urged to introduce same-sex dance partners in future series

Strictly Come Dancing made history with the first ever same-sex dance routine.

The BBC ballroom and latin dance competition has been urged to start including same-sex dance couples in future series of the show but bosses revealed that the 2018 show will stick to the male/female partners.

However, professional dancer AJ Pritchard exclusively reveals in  Attitude’s October issue that for the first time ever, there will be same-sex dance routines performed by the professional dancers - and Sunday’s results show didn’t fail to meet our expectations.

Performing to Imagine Dragons, the show opened with the dancers partnering up with a partner of the same-sex and gave viewers a taste of what could be in store for future series.

Many dancers and judges – including head judge Shirley Ballas – have backed introducing same-sex dance couples to the show.
