RuPaul has judged hundreds of queens across 13 seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Rage, two of Drag Race UK, and a growing number of international versions of the show.

But according to the drag expert, two of the “greatest ever” contestants appeared on the season of RPDR just gone: winner Symone and runner-up Gottmik.

Can’t say we’re surprised!

Ru made the remarks on stage at yesterday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted – where RPDR won Best Competition Series, Best Reality Cast, and Best Host.

“A perfect example of why our casting is so great”

Symone and Gottmik reunited to collect the award for Best Cast – with the latter joking: “I hate our cast, but I love that you guys love them!” – before the stage doors opened to ru-veal RuPaul and his right-hand woman Michelle Visage.

(Side note: check out the genuine surprise on Symone’s face when she clocks RuPaul!)

Ru then tells Symone and former Attitude cover star Gottmik: “I’ve got to say, you two are a perfect example of why our casting is so great.”

The 60-year-old – who’s currently presiding over RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under – then added: “You’re two of the greatest cast members we have ever had on our little show.”

This is quite the compliment: 179 queens have competed on RPDR alone to date!

Michelle then adds: “And we might add, that now all this is lifting [coronavirus restrictions] and performances are open, bars are open, drag brunches are open, please go and support your local queens!”

Symone snatched the crown from SE13 finalists Gottmik, Kandy Muse and Rosé last month.
