Queer as Folk’s Stephen Dunn says it’s ‘definitely a dream’ for more Charlie Hunnam-type cameos
The OG Queer as Folk star makes a surprise cameo in the 2022 reboot.

One of the creative minds behind the latest version of Queer as Folk (QAF) has teased fans with the possibility of more surprise cameos and links to the OG series in the future.
Fans were pleasantly surprised when in the final episode of Peacock’s modern-day reboot Nathan Maloney played by Charlie Hunnam made a brief appearance via a Grindr profile.
Devin Way’s Brodie is pondering a move to Manchester, where the original QAF was set, and as you would he takes a gander over the Grindr situation around Canal Street. One of the profiles he comes across is that of Hunnam’s character now all hunky.

The image of Charlie is taken (we think) from his days as a leading man in films such as The Gentlemen and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
Talking to Digital Spy recently, Stephen Dunn said it was “definitely a dream” to include more references like this in future seasons of the rebooted show.
“I love Charlie Hunnam, and I think he did such an amazing job. Yeah, that is definitely a nod, and we will see what happens with that. I can’t really say anything,” Dunn goes on to say.
As far as we can tell Charlie would also be up for a return to QAF.
He told The Sun in 2017: “I’d be game for a reunion. It [was] a long time ago. I’m an old bastard now – that was 20 years ago.”
“It was the beginning of my career, so I have very fond memories of it,” he adds later on. “I’m very proud of being part of that show. I’m very happy when people bring it up. I’m just surprised it was so long ago.”
