reports that at a joint press conference with Prime Minister David Cameron, Barack Obama said that the anti-LGBT laws in Mississippi and North Carolina "should be overturned."
"I also think that the laws that have been passed there are wrong and should be overturned and they're in response to politics in part and some strong emotions that are generated by people."
North Carolina's HB2 law prevents transgender people from using the bathroom which correlates to the gender with which they associate while Mississippi's ‘Religious Liberty’ bill 1523 permits businesses and organisations to refuse service to LGBT people on the grounds of religious freedom.
Earlier this week, the Foreign Office issued a travel warning to LGBT people over North Carolina's bathroom law and Mississippi's legislation.
