I grew up listening to Andrew’s extraordinary music and was lucky enough, a couple of years ago, to record Cats’ beautiful song Memory," said Scherzinger in a press release. "Andrew’s score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career. I can’t wait to begin rehearsals," she added. Cats debuted in the West End in 1981, and went on to have a record-breaking 21-year run before coming to an end in 2002. The  original production won an Olivier Award for Best Musical, while the Broadway adaptation went on to win seven Tony Awards.
