Neil Patrick Harris stars as a newly single, gay bachelor navigating the New York City dating scene in the new trailer for Netflix’s Uncoupled

Helmed by Sex and the City creators Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, the New York City-based queer rom-com follows Michael (Neil Patrick Harris) a successful estate agent, whose life is thrown into shambles when his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins) moves out unexpectedly.

A description for the show reads: “Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.”

In the trailer, Michael can be seen joining Grindr in search of company, trying to take a dick pic, and being solicited for a threesome.

Across eight episodes the Hedwig and the Angry Inch Tony winner will be joined by co-stars Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks, and Marcia Gay Harden.

As well as Uncoupled, NPH is also lined up to appear in the upcoming Doctor Who series as “the greatest enemy” the Time Lord has ever faced.

The actor recently shared an image of himself in costume writing: “My current gig. Never looked more dashing. Thank you for inviting me into your Whoniverse, [Russell T Davies]. I’ll try my hardest to do my worst. This Doctor has no idea what’s in store. And even if he does… Who cares? Ha ha ha HA ha-ha-ha!”

Uncoupled premieres on Netflix on 29 July.

The Attitude July/August issue is out now.
