Ncuti Gatwa and Asa Butterfield tease ‘love triangles’ in season two of Sex Education.
The first season received critical acclaim and told the story of Otis (Butterfield) and his friend Maeve Wiley who set up a sex clinic at their secondary school, with the help of his unknowing sex therapist mother, played by Gillian Anderson.
The new season will continue the story of late bloomer Otis Milburn who will have to learn to manage his newly discovered sexual urges if he wants his relationship with girlfriend Ola to succeed.
Set to be released on January 17, Ncuti Gatwa will return as Eric Effiong, who is Otis’ openly gay best friend and Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley and Connor Swindells as bully and closeted Adam Groff.
And now, both Gatwa and Butterfied have teased what to expect from the upcoming season and said there will be a ‘couple of love triangles’.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Gatwa said: "There are some new people coming in and there's new relationships.
"There's a couple of love triangles. There's new ladies, there's new gentleman."
Butterfield added: "But as well as that, we see a closer look at everyone's lives individually and that goes for all the characters and we kind of see a bit more of what makes them tick, which is nice."
As well as the returning cast, a bunch of new characters are set to debut including Sam Outalbali as French student Rahim who turns heads when he joins Moordale Secondary School.
New cast and characters include Chinenye Ezeudu as super intelligent Viv and George Robinson as Isaac who moves into Maeve’s caravan park.
