A man was taken to hospital after he was slashed in the leg with a machete in London in a suspected homophobic attack.

On Tuesday (July 23), police were called to Canada Water, London, after reports of a machete attack outside Sainsbury’s in Surrey Quays Road, the Southwark News reported.

The victim suffered an injury to his leg during the attack and was taken to hospital by air ambulance. The suspect reportedly fled the scene on a motorbike.

Although no arrests have been made at the moment, Scotland Yard put out a statement saying there was a ‘homophobic motive’ behind the attack.
