With much of the world still in lockdown, increasing numbers of people are looking at relatively restriction-free Australia with increasing envy.

And now, the sight of Luke Evans showing off his new tattoo in nothing but some skimpy swimming briefs on an Aussie beach is likely to have even more of us daydreaming about a trip Down Under.

Evans, 41, left Instagram followers fanning themselves as he shared a candid shot of himself knelt in front of the camera in a pair of bright yellow briefs this week, with his new inking of a bird in flight on his upper thigh visible.

The star of Beauty and the Beast and The Pembrokeshire Murders was named Man of the Year at the 2020 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar last December, and used his acceptance speech to reflect on his status as an out gay leading man in Hollywood.

“People are often shocked when they discover that the actor who played the bad guy in The Fast and the Furious and had the big fight scene with Vin Diesel is actually gay”, Luke said at the time.

“Well, here’s some news: who were are, what we are, and who we love has absolutely no effect or influence on our abilities, our ambitions, or our talents.”
