Ryan Murphy has admitted that he is trying to convince Jessica Lange to return for another season of American Horror Story
It's previously been reported that Lange – who's starred in all four seasons of the horror anthology series – would leave the show when it's latest incarnation, Freak Show
comes to an end early next year.
Now the creator of the hit series, Ryan Murphy, has has revealed that he's been trying to persuade Lange to return for the show's fifth season, admitting that it could still happen if he presents her with a character she's "very interested" in.
"This is her favourite season, without question. I really want her to keep her hand in," Murphy told TVLine
. "Does that mean 13 episodes? Does that mean six? Does that mean one? She and I are probably going to have a dinner date when the holidays come."
He added: "It always starts with a character for Jessica, so I think I'd have to present her with something she was very interested in," he explained. "Before, I was met with a really quick 'No'. Now, I'm hearing, 'Well, let's keep talking'. So I thought that was a very good sign."
Meanwhile, Murphy has revealed that Lange will cover a Lana Del Rey track during American Horror Story: Freak Show
