‘Gay porn’ is searched for most in countries where homosexuality is illegal, reveals Pornhub report

Ironic, isn't it?

PornHub has unveiled its most-searched for terms of 2017.

The porn site released their annual Year In Review report this week, revealing what people are watching and searching for.

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, countries such as Saudi Arabia and Oman’s most popular search term is for same-sex porn.

This says a lot considering homosexuality in both countries is currently illegal, and punishable by at least 3 years in prison.

The in-depth report also revealed that the term most people worldwide used while looking at gay porn was “Japanese” and the second most-searched term, up by 57 spots from the year before, was “Korean”.

Searches for straight men seem to have fallen as “Straight first time” had dropped one spot from 2016. Other trending searches include “police patrol”, “korea” and “is that your boner”. We’re saying nothing about the latter, you know who you are.

The most viewed categories include “Straight Guys” and “Daddy,” while William Seed, Johnny Rapid and Armond Rizzo are three of the most-searched pornstars of the year.

The report also found that 37% of visitors on Pornhubs gay page were actually women.

Interestingly enough, the site suffered from traffic drops during major television events and live broadcasts.

There was a 6% drop in site traffic during the American Music Awards, 5% during the Academy Awards and a 4% drop during both the Golden Globes and Grammys. What can we say, we love an award show.

Meanwhile, in the UK, site traffic dropped 8% during the Strictly Come Dancing final and 3% with the Great British Bake Off’s final.
