'Eastenders' star Ben Hardy cast in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Ben Hardy has been cast in upcoming Hollywood blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse. The Eastenders star - who filmed his last scenes as Albert Square's Peter Beale last Friday (February 20) - has landed a "key role" in the upcoming super-hero sequel, Variety reports. ben hardy The 24-year-old was first linked to the Bryan Singer-directed movie when he announced he was leaving the BBC One soap in November last year, with rumours circulating that he was in line to play a young Cyclops - though the role has since confirmed to have gone to 18-year-old American Tye Sheridan. Hardy will join the cast alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult, as well as series newcomer Channing Tatum, who's landed the role of classic comic book mutant Gambit.
