Drag Race UK‘s Choriza May and Elektra Fence have defended their season three sister Veronica Green, after the latter was absent at a recent reunion.

The girls linked up with the rest of the cast to see Krystal Versace crowned the winner at a reunion screening with press last month.

Veronica’s absence led to rumours that the star – who also appeared on season two of the show, but pulled out after testing positive for coronavirus – didn’t get on with the other queens.

“She was like a mother figure to all of us”

However, Elektra and Choriza praised VG in a recent chat with Digital Spy. explaining the star was booked to work, with Elektra adding the girls encouraged her to”take the money.”

She said: “I want to say something about Veronica. She was one of the queens that got me through my episodes on Drag Race. All two of them.

“Every time before the runway or a challenge, she would grab my hands and tell me it was okay and I’ve got this.

“Veronica was lovely backstage.”

Added Choriza: “She was like a mother figure to all of us. It almost felt for us that it was like, ‘Let’s stop bothering Veronica.’ We would ask her all the time, ‘What do we do now?’ ‘How did you feel about this in your season?’

“She was always so kind, she always had words for everyone, even when we were in a resting moment like having breakfast.”

Season 14 of Drag Race UK‘s US counterpart, RuPaul’s Drag Race, lands on January 7, 2022.
