Donald Trump just said LGBTQ people 'like the job' he's doing

Guess he really has lost it.

Not a day goes by when Donald Trump doesn't say something disconcertingly unhinged, but the former reality TV star's impressive level of delusion has reached new heights after he claimed LGBTQ people "like the job" he's doing as President of the United States.

The businessman-turned-populist hate-mongerer, who has rolled back federal employment protections for LGBTQ people and banned transgender people from the military over the last two years, made the astounding claim as he ducked a question about his administration's latest attack on the community on Tuesday (20 Auguat), NBC reports.

Asked by The Washington Blade about the White House's proposed extension of 'religious freedom' laws which make it easier for companise to discriminate against LGBTQ people, Trump dodged the question and replied: "I think I've done really very well with that community. They like the job I'm doing."

Citing the support of conservative LGBTQ group the Log Cabin Republicans and gay billionaire Pay-Pal founder Peter Thiel, he added: "Some of my biggest supporters are of that community, and I talk to them a lot about it."

Other attacks on LGBTQ people by the Trump White House include abolishing the post Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons at the Stae Department and proposing a a rule that would allow insurers and health care providers to discriminate against transgender patients.

Trump is also yet to officially acknowledge LGBTQ Pride month while serving as president, something which both former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama did during their time in office.

The good news? There's now just 15 months to go until Americans head to the polls for the 2020 US presidential election, where LGBTQ people can really make their feelings known...
