BBC’s Tomasz Schafernaker voted UK’s favourite weatherman: Relive his jaw-dropping Attitude shoot

By Will Stroude

A poll for the Radio Times has just confirmed what we’ve known for years: that BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker is offically the nation’s favourite forecaster.

The Poland-born meteorologist, who became the youngest male to ever to present the BBC weather at the age of 22 way back in 2001, beat BBC Breakfast’s Carole Kirkwood to nab the top spot in a poll which received over 25,000 votes nationwide.

Tomasz has long delighted audiences with his cheeky demeanour and on-air slip-ups – the most memorable of which of course being the time he flipped the finger to a BBC News anchor without realising the camera was on him.

There are others reasons out and proud Tomasz proves popular with a certain type of gent, however, and one of them might be to do with a little shoot he did for Attitude back in 2010.

Yep, the face of BBC weather raised a fair few eyebrows as he swapped the straight-laced suit for something slightly more revealing in our February 2010 issue, as he revealed how he juggled a busy TV career with staying in shape.

In honour of his win, it only seemed right to treat ourselves to a little trip down memory lane. Enjoy…

Selected back issues of Attitude are available to download now.
