AHS: Hotel slammed as 'most vile, shocking TV content ever'

2015-10-20
American Horror Story: Hotel is already proving to be the most gruesome installment Ryan Murphy's anthology series since 2012's Asylum, and it's quickly making that title official after incurring the wrath of powerful censorship lobby group the Parents Television Council (PTC). After several weeks of murder, sex and throat-slitting orgies, the PTC has denounced the Lady Gaga-starring series as "the most vile and shocking content... ever seen on TV" - a mantle we have no doubt the Bad Romance singer is assuredly proud of - and called for an advertiser boycott. ahshotel According to DigitalSpy, PTC president Tim Winter called for an advertiser boycott of the series in a recent email to subscribers, denouncing the show as an "unbelievably explicit combination of sex and violence". He wrote: "This is the most vile and shocking content I've ever seen on TV. Ever. "Most Americans have no idea this is primetime fare on advertiser-supported basic cable. And everyone is paying for it as part of their programme bundle." The group also singled out Murphy's other series Scream Queens for criticism, with Winter writing: "The programme features graphic decapitations and discussions of necrophilia in the family hour... all sponsored by McDonald's." Meanwhile, AHS: Hotel actor Nathan Peterson recently revealed his developing crush on Matt Bomer in the wake of the pair's bloody bisexual orgy (that probably went down really well with Mr Winters too) - click here to find out more. American Horror Story premieres in the UK tonight (November 20) on Fox.
