OK, so what’s SACRED?
It’s a series of live art and contemporary performances, hosted by
Chelsea Theatre. A new season starts this month, and is running until February
of next year, and then from March to July.
That’s a long time. Tell me what sort of stuff is filling up their
programme?
Glad you asked. It’s stuff like So Below,
from Karen Christopher, (Formerly part of Chicago's Goat Island) and Gerard
Bell. And an evening with poet and author Jeremy Reed reading from Piccadilly Bongo, which he co-wrote with
Marc Almond.
The Marc Almond?
The Marc Almond.
That one sounds particularly good. When’s that on?
October 22 at 8pm. And, like all shows in October, it’ll only cost you a
tenner. So you can’t go far wrong.
Can we get some more info on the reading? Jeremy Reed has been championed by figures as diverse as Pete Doherty, Bjork, Seamus Heaney and J.G. Ballard. His performance will be accompanied by experimental electronic musician Itchy Ear. This performance Piccadilly Bongo, will also feature a number of specially produced, signed limited edition copies of the book and CD.
Smashing. Is it all at Chelsea Theatre?
Some stuff is happening in Battersea, so make sure you check the
listings at www.chelseatheatre.org.uk
or give them a ring on 020 7352 1967.
