Perhaps the best-known gay characters in British Soapland are to leave their roles, as the BBC has confirmed that Christian and Syed are being written out of Eastenders. The characters, played by Marc Elliott and John Partridge, have been an integral part of the Albert Square set-up for over three years. Details have not yet been released as to how Elliott and Partridge's characters will come to leave the show. It would be nice if the Soaps had some happy gays on the screen at some point soon, wouldn't it? Or just bring back Adam Rickitt - whatevs.
