The seventh UK
Black Pride, Europe’s biggest celebration of African, Asian, Caribbean and Arab
LGBT kicks off tomorrow (Saturday 18
August) from 12 noon until 8:30pm at the Ministry of Sound, London. This
year’s theme is ‘Together we’re strong!’
The headliners include Omar, Donae’o and Amplify
Dot. The show will also have Drag Idol 2012’s Asifa Lahore, joined by Alexis Carrington from
Trannyshack and Madam Jo Jo's giving her special tribute to Whitney
Houston alongside Laayie (featuring Icykal) who is the openly gay rapper who won the UK
Unsigned Title at the 02. There will also be laughs from the comedian Roslyn Carty performing snippets
from her 'Jesus loves ME and you Roadshow'.
The
show will be hosted by Topher Campbell (RUKAS!), MsSirena & MC Angel (Lyrically
Challenged) and Ms Lorna
Sutra G (Blessence).
Although
pride ends at 8:30pm, the night continues at the official after party at
Bootylicious, Club Colosseum, 1 Nine Elms Lane, Vauxhall, London SW8 5NQ doors
open at 9pm. The restaurant/kitchen will
serve jerk chicken and quality burgers, and the bar price promotions start from
£2 for selected beverages until 1:30am.
At 2am on stage
directly from the US west coast comes the banjee power AB SOTO. Check out his
