The author and illustrator Maurice Sendak has died at the age of 83. Though best known for his book - later made into a highly successful film - Where The Wild Things Are, Sendak had written books and illustrated them since the 1950s. Though traditionally considered children's literature, they are much, much more.
Maurice lived with his partner of 50 years, Eugene Glynn, until his death a few years ago, though only discussed his sexuality relatively recently.
